There are three stages or ladders to achieving or reaching your potential.

I recently discovered a concept. This concept consists of 3 ladders. First is physical health, physical health lays the foundation for mental health. With solid mental health you become able to be more productive and efficient. This concept has provided me with a model I can look at as a guideline to productivity and purpose fueled work.

These three ladders are the following:

Physical health:

The first ladder.

Level 1, this is where you build the baseline of discipline and mindset.

This involves going through a transformation either in your health or fitness domain. In my case this has been fitness, running and body/building. This transformation or realization leads to clarity and the achievement of enhanced discipline. The health benefits of reaching better physical health are far beyond looks. Becoming fit lays the ground work for better mental health. This is why you should start to pursue a physical goal. A goal you have to put your body through hard work to achieve. This will program your brain to become more resilient. It will lead to a growth mindset. That will be beneficial in all areas of life.

Mental Health:

The next ladder.

Level 2 of the transformation.

I can only speak for myself. Fitness and building a strong and health body has been game-changing for me. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind, if done right. The dicslipline you gain from sculpturing a healthy body. Will lead to mindful habits. Mindful habits are crucial for a baseline good mental state. We can look at Andrew Hubermans science about optimizing the dopamine baseline. Doing hard physical challenges is a factor to optimize the dopamine. The reason for why dopamine is interesting in this case is because it leads to motivation and drive. You can then leverage the increase in motivation to chase your goals and be productive. This is why mental health contributes to the next ladder.

Productivity:

The final ladder.

Level 3 you gain all the attributes needed to achieve your goals .

The final ladder productivity is all about leveraging your mental and physical capabilites. Its where you set goals, and execute. With enough deep work you can achieve your goals. You have become aware of the concept of "delayed gratification". You will not let cheap dopamine and instant satisfaction stand in the way of your set goals. Because like fitness, your goals are not instant, and results takes time. Either way, you have learned that sticking it out with consistancy. Is your best chance at arriving at the place you desire.

Physical health is the starting point for a healthy mind and body. It is impossible to maintain mental health. Without taking care of your physical health.

When you exercise and eat well, your body releases endorphins. This improve your mood and reduce stress levels. In the end this will lead to better mental health and increased productivity.

By prioritizing physical health. You’re not only improving your physical strength but also your mental strength. This will help you stay focused and productive throughout the day.

Make time for exercise, eat a balanced diet, and prioritize sleep. These small changes will have a huge impact. Both in physical health, mental health, and productivity.

Taking care of your physical health is a key. Its the foundational component in maintaining a healthy mind and increasing productivity. Start small and build healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
